Experience City of Parramatta’s unique Thai Water Festival this November at Loy Krathong.


When: Saturday 17 November 2018

Cost: Free 

Time: 4pm - 10pm

Where: River Foreshore, between the Barry Wilde and Elizabeth Street Bridges in Parramatta

Parking: Riverbank Car Park or Phillip Street Car Park.

  • Buddharangsee Thai School Stanmore performance
  • Massage demonstration
  • Flash Muay Thai boxing demonstration
  • Authentic Thai cuisine cooking demonstration by Sujet Saenkham, Head Chef of ‘Spice I Am’.
  • Contestants cook off

From 7.30pm

  • Krathong procession commences, led by Councillor Lord Mayor and Royal Thai Consulate-General
  • Fireworks spectacular

 The Loy Krathong stage will come alive with cultural performances bylocal and international stars.

The magical energy, sounds and flavours of Thailand will be on display, with enchanting light treatments, traditional games, and a range of delicious South East Asian food offerings. 

Participate in free cultural workshops and learn about their significance to Thai heritage.  


Krathong Making

Learn how to make your own krathong, then as the sun sets, send your best wishes for a prosperous future as you release the krathong to float across the Parramatta River.


Visit the Thai Village

  • Amazing Thailand
    Visit the Amazing Thailand stall and be provided with destination information on beautiful Thailand.

  • Food and beverage
    Enjoy delicious cuisines from a variety of food stalls and trucks. Enjoy traditional Thai cuisine, Asian delights, sweet tea, sugar cane, scrumptious desserts and ice cream. Relax with a chilled beverage in the glowing Thai Beer Garden, sponsored by Singha Beer. 

  • Krathongs
    The procession and krathong floating ceremony commences at 8pm. Make your own unique krathong or purchase a krathong ready to participate in this ancient Thai ritual. Float away all your worries on Parramatta River bringing you a better life and prosperous future.
